Woman and a pair of kids killed in head-on crash on 15 Freeway in wet San Bernardino County desert



A 43-year-old girl and two kids died on Saturday, March 30, after a car hydroplaned within the rain and collided head-on with one other car on the 15 Freeway within the San Bernardino County desert northeast of Baker, authorities stated.

At about 1:40 p.m., the motive force of a 2019 Kia — carrying 5 different folks — was heading south alongside the freeway, amid a heavy downpour, when the car started to hydroplane close to Halloran Springs Road, based on the California Highway Patrol. The Kia traveled throughout the southbound lanes, throughout the median and into the northbound lanes the place it collided head-on with a 2016 Mercedes SUV with 4 folks inside.

A lady and a 13-year-old boy contained in the Kia — each passengers and residents of Madera, a city close to Fresno — together with an 11-year-old Los Angeles boy who was within the Mercedes had been killed within the crash.

Their identities had not been launched on Sunday.

Seven others had been taken to hospitals, authorities stated.
