This refined casing supplies the right body for the calibre KV20i, a motion crafted in-house by Voutilainen, which shifts the normal back-of-watch mechanisms to the entrance.
The KV20i’s dial is an open window into the motion’s advanced workings. German silver bridges are frosted and adorned with polished screw heads and meticulously crafted flat wheels and pinions. Each beveled fringe of the calibre displays the masterful work of Voutilainen’s atelier. A standout function is the outsized 13.5mm free-sprung steadiness wheel, full with rose gold timing weights, paired with two giant, blued escape wheels driving the direct impulse escapement – a trademark of precision and reliability.
The cherry theme continues with the daring minutes ring framing the motion. This ring, marked by polished gold dots at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, contrasts with the intricately guilloché-adorned background, lending the watch a layered visible enchantment. The model’s title sits on the prime of the dial, underscoring the craftsmanship and magnificence embodied within the KV20i Reversed. Gold hour and minute fingers, completed with distinctive blue rings at their suggestions, deliver a touch of playful design, suggesting the opportunity of matching them to the watch’s cherry theme.
Turning the watch over reveals extra of its refined character. The clear caseback exposes the reverse aspect of the KV20i motion, framed by a cherry-coloured ring. This ring, etched with a hand-guilloché sample, bears a plaque naming the mannequin and its quantity within the sequence. The higher left of the caseback includes a working seconds sub-dial, detailed with a unique guilloché sample and marked with double-digit intervals, making a steadiness of kind and performance. The calibre KV20i is manually wound, containing 31 jewels, working at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour, and providing a strong 60-hour energy reserve. Completing the look is a hand-sewn material strap in matching cherry purple, enhancing the timepiece’s cohesive color theme.
