UAE calls for ‘pressing’ entry to Telegram CEO locked up in France


The United Arab Emirates introduced late Monday it had requested the French authorities to permit consular entry to Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, who’s at present in police custody in Paris.

Durov, a Russian-born French-Emirati citizen, was arrested late Saturday evening and remains to be being held as a part of a probe into allegations regarding little one pornography, drug trafficking and arranged crime on the Telegram messaging platform, the Paris prosecutor’s workplace stated.

Telegram is closing in on a billion world customers and is a key communication device for political dissidents, gangsters and criminals, and on the battlefields of japanese Ukraine.
