Transient suspected of forcing aged Riverside man to withdraw cash from financial institution



A 33-year-old transient suspected of forcing a Riverside senior to go to a financial institution and withdraw money that he stole from the sufferer was being held at present on $1 million bail, police stated.

Tyreez Daishon Marzette was arrested and booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning Thursday on suspicion of kidnapping to commit theft, elder abuse and resisting arrest.

According to Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback, on the afternoon of July 2, the sufferer, an aged man, was leaving White Park after visiting with mates when Marzette allegedly confronted him, simulating a firearm beneath his garments.

Railsback alleged the suspect took cash within the sufferer’s possession, then “compelled the sufferer to stroll to a close-by financial institution to get extra money from his checking account.”

“The suspect waited exterior because the sufferer went within the financial institution, (however) as a substitute requested for assist,” the police spokesman stated. “Prior to our law enforcement officials arriving, the suspect fled the scene on foot.”

The senior was not injured.

According to Railsback, detectives confirmed the suspect was an area transient who frequents the downtown space.

On Thursday afternoon, a police group volunteer noticed Marzette alongside Chestnut Street and acknowledged him from descriptions, prompting a right away name to investigators, who took him into custody with out incident, Railsback stated.
