Thousands signal petition protesting Progress Pride flags on London’s Regent Street

Nearly 20,000 individuals have signed a petition protesting plans to show Progress Pride flags alongside one in all London’s most well-known thoroughfares.


The petition was launched by Christian Concern forward of the show deliberate for Pride month in June. 

It is frequent for outlets, practice stations and different public areas to be decked out in Pride flags each June.

Progress Pride flags differ from conventional Pride flags with the inclusion of brown, black, mild blue and pink stripes. These extra stripes signify individuals of color, trans individuals, and people dwelling with HIV/AIDS.

The petition to Westminster City Council calls the flags “divisive” and “gaudy”, and says they’re “fully inappropriate for this historic, iconic road on the centre of London”.

“Each June, our neighbourhoods are swamped with Pride flags as councils, retailers and different companies sign their assist for LGBTQ+ ideology. It’s time to cease this,” the petition reads.

“Rainbow flags are unhealthy sufficient – however ‘Progress Pride’ flags add transgender stripes – a motion that has performed untold injury to gender-questioning kids in recent times.”

It provides that the flags “make everybody who does not assist the entire LGBTQ+ agenda really feel unwelcome”. 

“They ship the message that Christians, and others with historic beliefs about sexuality and gender usually are not welcome,” the petition mentioned.
