Suspicious gadget prompts evacuations in Rancho Cucamonga



A residential block in Rancho Cucamonga was evacuated Monday night, June 3, whereas authorities investigated a suspicious gadget.

The gadget was reported round 6 p.m. alongside the 9300 block of Lomita Drive, in response to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Information on the place the gadget was discovered was not instantly obtainable.

Residents alongside Lomita Drive between Hellman and Amethyst avenues, in addition to a number of on La Grande Street, have been evacuated out of precaution and had not returned to their properties by about 8:30 p.m.

A street closure was in place for Hellman Avenue between Base Line Road and Monte Vista Street.
