A San Bernardino County sheriff’s sergeant jumped into Big Bear Lake to save lots of a passenger trapped in a car final weekend, authorities reported.
Sgt. Kristina Winegar responded to a name at 11 p.m. Saturday, May 25, of a car pushed into the lake.
Deputies discovered a car submerged with its rear protruding of the water, a sheriff’s information launch states. The driver, who was arrested on suspicion of DUI, escaped the car, however the passenger was trapped inside.
Winegar went into the lake and freed the passenger, who was taken to a hospital to be handled for accidents.
