A search is underway for lacking crew after two French fighter jets crashed in northern France on Wednesday, the French armed forces minister stated.
“One of the pilots was discovered and is secure and sound. The search continues to be ongoing,” Sébastien Lecornu, minister of the French armed forces, stated in an announcement on social media.
The accident happened in Meurthe-et-Moselle, a division bordering Belgium. It concerned two fighter jets from the Rafale 3/4 Aquitaine Transformation Squadron, a fight unit of the French air pressure, Lecornu added.
Lecornu thanked the “armed forces and the gendarmes concerned within the search and securing the realm.”
