Riverside man who smuggled meth from Mexico to Inland Empire will get 21 years



A 51-year-old Riverside man was sentenced to 21 years in jail for trafficking methamphetamine from Mexico to the Inland Empire, the U.S. Department of Justice mentioned on Monday, May 6.

Timoteo Gomez, a lead defendant amongst 21 folks arrested in a meth-distribution ring bust in 2021, pleaded responsible in 2022 to 1 depend of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Between April and August 2020, Gomez and others bought meth from suppliers in Mexico, Los Angeles and Riverside counties, together with smuggling almost 47 kilos of meth from the U.S. port of entry at Calexico to Riverside County, officers mentioned in an announcement.

In complete, 16 folks have been convicted, and over 150 kilos of methamphetamine and $31,035 in money had been seized, authorities mentioned.
