Landslides in India triggered by pounding monsoon rains struck tea plantations and killed no less than 108 individuals on Tuesday, with no less than 250 others rescued from mud and particles.
Torrential downpours have battered the southern coastal state of Kerala, with blocked roads into the catastrophe space in Wayanad district complicating reduction efforts.
“This disaster has resulted within the lack of 108 lives,” the state’s chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated in an announcement. “This is without doubt one of the worst pure calamities Kerala has ever witnessed.”
