Only 35% of Evangelicals assume they’re able to share biblical truths: ballot

(CP) While the overwhelming majority of Evangelicals consider they’ve an obligation to share the teachings of the Bible, most do not feel ready to take action, in response to a brand new survey.


The Institute of Faith and Culture launched the outcomes on Tuesday of its 2024 Survey on Christian Cultural Engagement, which it carried out in collaboration with Lifeway Research.

When requested if Christians have a duty to “share truths from God’s Word with individuals who maintain completely different views,” 92% agreed, whereas solely 6% disagreed and a couple of% had been not sure. However, simply 37% of respondents “considerably agreed” that their church “deliberately creates environments to debate variations between our tradition’s values and the Bible’s,” as a further 22% “strongly agreed.” Significant shares of these surveyed both “considerably disagreed” (17%) or “strongly disagreed” (9%) with that assertion.

“There are noticeable variations within the massive variety of evangelicals who really feel accountable to share the Bible’s views than the quantity who’re prepared to take action,” stated Scott McConnell, the CEO of Lifeway Research. “Churches search to assist Evangelicals have conversations with folks whose views differ from the Bible, however fewer church buildings talk about the Bible and the tradition’s values side-by-side.”
