Off-duty LAPD officer fatally shoots man in Ontario



An investigation is underway after an off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer shot and killed a person in Ontario.

ABC 7 reported Ontario Police Department officers responded to studies of a capturing within the space of Euclid Avenue and Sixth Street round 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

“Upon their arrival, the officers discovered one man with a gunshot wound,” Ontario Police Cpl. Eliseo Guerrero advised City News Service.

The sufferer was pronounced dead on the scene. It was not instantly clear what prompted the capturing.

“The investigation remains to be in its preliminary phases. The {LAPD officer} is cooperating with the investigation,” Guerrero stated.

The off-duty officer was taken to a hospital with unspecified accidents in secure situation. Guerrero stated it was unclear how the officer sustained his accidents.

“The Los Angeles Police Department is conscious of an officer-involved capturing, involving a Los Angeles police officer within the metropolis of Ontario earlier this night. The Los Angeles Police Department is totally cooperating with the investigation,” the LAPD stated in an announcement.
