Motorist who bumped into CHP bike officer admits guilt



An unlicensed driver who backed right into a California Highway Patrol bike officer throughout a visitors cease, injuring the lawman, pleaded responsible this week to assault on a peace officer with a lethal weapon and different fees.

Prudencio Xajil Alvarado, 57, admitted the assault rely, together with DUI leading to nice bodily damage and being an unlicensed operator of a motorized vehicle, as a part of a plea deal.

Riverside County Superior Court Judge Thomas Kelly scheduled Alvarado’s sentencing for July 10 on the Riverside Hall of Justice.

About 9:30 a.m. Oct. 18, 2022, the motor officer noticed Alvarado’s Nissan Maxima on Indiana Avenue, simply south of the 91 Freeway, in unincorporated Home Gardens, between Riverside and Corona. The officer pulled him over for an unspecified infraction, the CHP has stated.

The officer maneuver the bike to a brief distance behind Alvarado’s sedan.

“As the officer started to dismount his bike to contact the motive force, Alvarado positioned the Nissan into reverse and accelerated towards the officer,” Javier Navarro, a CHP officer and spokesman, has stated. “The Nissan collided into the bike, disabling it and subsequently inflicting minor accidents to the officer.”
