Man trimming palm tree in Riverside dies when fronds collapse on him

A person trimming a palm tree died Friday, April 26, when fronds fell on him, pinning him to the tree, the Riverside Fire Department stated.

The fronds that fell on the person have been dead and fashioned what is named a skirt beneath the dwelling fronds, stated Capt. Chuck Tasker, a Fire Department spokesman. Those could be dislodged by vibrations, and the person was clearing these on the time of the accident, Tasker stated.

Firefighters have been known as to the yard of a house on Newkirk Drive round 1:45 p.m. They used ladders to ascend the tree and examine on the person, who was already dead, Tasker stated. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office will decide the reason for dying.
