Julio Cesar Rodarte, 39, was arrested and booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on Monday on suspicion of homicide, tried homicide and resisting arrest.
Rodarte is being held with out bail.
He allegedly killed 42-year-old Victor Hugo Leon of San Jacinto, in line with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Rafael Victorio mentioned that shortly after 7 a.m. Monday, Rodarte positioned himself close to the intersection of West Seventh Street and South San Jacinto Avenue, opening fireplace “at passing autos.”
“Multiple autos have been struck by gunfire,” Victorio mentioned.
He mentioned Leon and one other man have been hit. Both victims have been taken to a regional trauma middle for therapy, however Leon succumbed to his wounds.
