Malaysia cabinets net site visitors re-routing plan after censorship considerations

Malaysian Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil mentioned he has directed the communications regulator to not re-route net site visitors by way of native area title system (DNS) servers, in keeping with a publish on social media platform X on Sunday.

He mentioned he had taken under consideration suggestions from engagement classes carried out by the communications fee and feedback from most people.

The directive, which was alleged to take impact on Sept. 30, had sparked considerations about rising on-line censorship and potential harm to Malaysia’s digital financial system.
