Japan to compile extra measures to help fisheries trade



Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Saturday mentioned that his authorities will, by the tip of this month, reveal a roadmap for extra measures to help fishery operators, which shall be included in an financial package deal to be compiled this autumn.

The extra measures shall be put in place to assist fishery operators damage by China’s blanket ban on imports of Japanese marine merchandise, which was launched in response to Japan beginning to launch into the ocean tritium-containing handled water from Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings’ Fukushima No. 1 nuclear energy plant on Aug. 24, 2023.
