Japan and Italy to share gas and ammo below new logistics deal

Japan and Italy have signed a deal that may enable their respective armed forces to share gas, meals and companies, a transfer supposed to facilitate higher bilateral and multilateral army actions over the approaching years as Rome and Tokyo take steps to deepen protection and safety cooperation.

Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya and Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto signed the Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA) in Rome on Monday on the sidelines of a Group of Seven overseas ministers summit.

The transfer, which will even allow higher interoperability and the speedy mobilization of support in case of emergencies and pure disasters, marks the profitable conclusion of negotiations that started in June.
