Images are circulating on social media displaying the execution of three Christian males in Nigeria.
International Christian Concern (ICC) studies that the pictures have been shared by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
ICC mentioned that one photograph confirmed the boys kneeling with their arms tied behind their backs in entrance of machine-gun wielding executioners whereas one other confirmed them being shot dead.
It is believed the boys have been kidnapped from a automobile travelling alongside a freeway in Borno state on 3 June. It is reported that Muslim passengers have been allowed to depart. The welfare of a fourth kidnapped passenger is unknown.
The deaths have been confirmed by Rev Ibrahim Abako, secretary of the Yobe State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria.
“On behalf of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Yobe State chapter, we condemn in totality the killing of three Christian youth alongside Damaturu-Biu Road Federal Highway,” he instructed the Nigerian information outlet, Leadership Media Group.
There has been a spate of Christian killings by ISWAP this 12 months after ISIS issued a name to its associates in January to kill Christians “the place you discover them”.
That similar month, 12 Christians have been killed when ISWAP carried out a string of assaults on rural Christian communities.
