Judge Charles J. Koosed sentenced Peyman Heidary, 53, on Friday, April 12, after his January conviction on 68 counts of insurance coverage fraud, cash laundering, conspiracy and different crimes, together with falsely promoting himself as a lawyer.
Koosed stated Heidary had a deep data of employees’ compensation.
Heidary, a chiropractor, operated sham regulation companies and medical clinics in Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles counties.

At the time of his arrest, the DA’s Office stated insurance coverage corporations had paid him lower than $50 million.
Two others have been convicted within the case.
Cary David Abramowitz was convicted of three counts of insurance coverage fraud and one depend of conspiracy in 2021. He was sentenced to about one yr within the Sheriff’s Department’s work-release program.
Erica Torres was convicted of seven counts of insurance coverage fraud. She is scheduled to be sentenced on June 20.
