Deadline for ‘catch-up’ HPV vaccination program prolonged till March


The well being ministry has determined to increase its free “catch-up” program for the human papillomavirus (HPV), citing logistical challenges and a scarcity of the vaccine.

The revised timeline, accepted at a ministry panel assembly on Wednesday, permits eligible ladies to obtain their first dose of the vaccine by the top of March 2025 and full the remaining two doses inside the following 12 months.

The program — initially set to finish in March 2025 — may even broaden eligibility to incorporate ladies born in fiscal 2008. This signifies that ladies born between fiscal years 1997 and 2008 qualify for the free vaccine.
