Crews assault brush fireplace west of 215 Freeway in Mead Valley space

A vegetation fireplace broke out Saturday night west of Perris and the 215 Freeway within the Mead Valley space, authorities stated.

The Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department stated fireplace crews had been responding after the hearth was reported within the space of Placentia and Patterson avenues round 8:15 p.m.

Initially reported at round 10 acres, by round 11 p.m. it was estimated at 25-30 acres and was “burning at a sluggish charge, in rocky terrain that’s tough to entry,” Cal Fire/Riverside stated on social media.

No accidents or evacuations had been reported by round 11 p.m.

This was not less than the second vegetation fireplace Saturday within the Perris space. Earlier, crews stopped at 10 acres a hearth burning close to the south entrance of Lake Perris State Recreation Area.
