5.3 magnitude earthquake centered close to Lamont shakes Southern California



A 5.3 magnitude earthquake was reported in Kern County on Tuesday night, adopted by a 4.5 aftershock that reached neighboring counties, in accordance with the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake occurred at 9:09 p.m. on Aug 6, with the epicenter positioned roughly 14 miles northeast of Lamont. The 5.3 magnitude earthquake was adopted by a 4.5 aftershock a few minute later, in accordance with the USGS.

The earthquake was reportedly felt so far as Los Angeles and Riverside County. People reported the shaking lasting a number of seconds and was felt from the excessive desert to downtown Los Angeles.
