4.4-magnitude earthquake, centered close to Highland Park, shakes Los Angeles

An earthquake initially estimated at 4.4 with an epicenter close to Highland Park shook the world on Monday afternoon, Aug. 12, in accordance the the United States Geological Survey.

The USGS categorized the shaking as “sturdy” with the potential for gentle injury with a few of the strongest shaking close to East Los Angeles.

Those as far-off as Rancho Cucamonga, Newport Beach and Victorville reported feeling the quake. In some locations, it lasted for a few seconds. In the Pasadena space, there have been fast, successive violent jolts.

No damages or accidents have been reported to South Pasadena and Pasadena police, officers stated. A WeWork constructing in Pasadena was evacuated.

Pasadena Police Lt. Matt Campeau stated the police station shook and they’d do their regular protocol, which incorporates shifting the police automobiles out of the parking construction and checking the constructing, he stated.
