2nd sizable earthquake in 24 hours shakes Kern County; 4.4 magnitude temblor strikes Wednesday close to Grapevine


A 4.4 magnitude earthquake hit Kern County on Wednesday night, a day after a 5.2 magnitude earthquake and a collection of aftershocks within the space, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The earthquake occurred at 7:09 p.m., roughly 13 miles northwest of Grapevine, in an space southwest of Bakersfield, and was adopted by three smaller aftershocks.

The quake is taken into account an aftershock from Tuesday’s 5.2 magnitude earthquake, based on Caltech’s Seismological Laboratory.

Wednesday’s quake was felt within the Antelope Valley and as far south as Los Angeles. There had been no instant experiences of harm.
