2 drivers injured, together with police officer, in Menifee collision

Two drivers, together with a police officer, have been hospitalized Sunday following a collision involving a police car at an intersection in Menifee.

The collision occurred round 9:37 p.m., when an officer from the Menifee Police Department entered an intersection at a purple gentle with their emergency lights and sirens activated and collided with a pickup truck, police stated in a Monday assertion.

The officer, who was responding to help with a car cease of a person suspected of assault with a lethal weapon, was heading westbound on Holland Road whereas the pickup truck driver traveled south on Menifee Road, police stated.

Both people, who have been the only real occupants of their automobiles, sustained non-life threatening accidents and have been hospitalized. The driver of the pickup truck was later launched from the hospital and the officer was reported to be steady and was anticipated to be launched inside the subsequent few days, authorities stated.
